Third Grade Children in Trinity Lutheran’s Sunday School receive a copy of the Spark Bible. This is the Bible edition students will be use in their Sunday School classes, and it is specifically a third grade translation. The Bibles are provided each year through the Charles Emanuel Third Grade Bible Fund. Mr. Emanuel taught Sunday School here at Trinity for 40 years prior to his death some years ago, leaving this wonderful blessing to the children of Trinity Lutheran.
Instruction for receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time is given to fourth graders from the congregation during the season of Lent, with the service of First Communion taking place as part of Holy Week Maundy Thursday worship.
Trinity’s Confirmation program is a three-year program usually involving Seventh, Eighth and Ninth graders, meeting for class nights from September until May. Confirmands attend classes, assist with Sunday worship as acolytes and also do various service projects. For every three-year cycle the program comprise Old Testament, New Testament and Catechetical instruction years.
There are many activities for our Trinity youth to participate in. Some of the events include: Vacation Bible School, ELCA National Youth Gathering, Pathways Bible Camps, Junior High Youth Gathering, Christian Rock Concerts, Operation Christmas Child, TRF Church ski trip, Haunted Woods and more.
Our youth program has two groups: students in grades 2-5 and 6-12. Both groups meet one time per month for fun and fellowship. Contact us at youth@trinitylutherantrf.org for more information.
Faith Lens is a weekly Bible study for high school age youth. Each week the study links a current news story in the world and the scripture texts from the Common Lectionary. The purpose is to explore and better understand every moment of life in the context of our faith and God’s Word. Click here for these resources.
